Standards for UV protection in sunglasses include the following
International standard. The EU standard EN1836:2005 requires sunglasses to filter more than 99% of UV radiation.
Domestic standards. China's national standard GB10810-2005 stipulates that sunglasses should provide more than 99% protection against ultraviolet rays with wavelengths between 280 and 380nm, and more than 90% protection against ultraviolet rays with wavelengths between 380 and 400nm.
Australian standard. Divided into 5 levels from level 0 to level 4, level 0 provides partial UV and glare protection, level 4 provides adequate UV and glare filtration but is not suitable for driving.
European standard. There are four classes, from "0" for insufficient UV protection to "7" for "full" UV protection, with light transmission ranging from 80%-100% (class 0) to 3%-8% (class 4). -8% (classification 4).
US standard. There are 3 classes and depending on the transmission, the lenses have different levels of UV protection.
In addition, sunglasses should be labelled with the range of wavelengths protected and the standard designation, e.g. "UV-400". When choosing sunglasses, the colour and transmission of the lenses should also be considered. Different colours of lenses have different levels of UV filtering, and lenses with low transmission ratios provide greater protection against UV rays.
